Ep 6: Why Your Body is Rebelling in Your 30s and 40s (and It Has Nothing to Do With Perimenopause)

I hear this from women constantly.

Their labs are normal, their hormones are within range, their doctor has no real answers, and they still feel terrible in their own bodies.

It creates a very specific kind of frustration, because on paper everything looks fine, and in reality nothing feels fine.

Many of these women are in their 30s or 40s and are doing everything they have been told to do.

They are taking the supplements, going to therapy, running hormone panels, using meditation apps, and trying different diets, and yet they are still waking up exhausted, feeling short with their kids, relying on caffeine to get through the day, and wondering why their body feels like it is working against them.

There are a lot of explanations offered for this experience.

Perimenopause is often the first one. Aging is another. Lack of discipline or consistency is often implied, even when it is not said directly.

What I want you to understand is that for many women, none of those explanations are actually the root of what is happening.

What I see over and over again is a nervous system that has been operating in survival mode for years, often since early life, and everything that has been offered as a solution has been aimed at managing the symptoms instead of addressing the underlying pattern.

That is why so many intelligent, capable women are doing all of the “right” things and still not seeing real change.

In this episode, I explain what is actually happening in the body when it has been in a prolonged survival state, how that connects to chronic pain, disrupted sleep, hormonal dysregulation, and the inability to fully relax, and what it takes to create change at the level where these patterns are formed.

I also share my own experience, including the Crohn’s disease I managed with immune suppressants and multiple biologics that each led to medication-induced Lupus, the anxiety that did not respond to traditional approaches, and the point at which my nervous system reached a level of overwhelm that no one around me could adequately explain.

What changed was not another strategy or protocol.

What changed was addressing the root of what my body had been doing for years.

This is not a conversation about managing stress more effectively.

This is a conversation about understanding your body in a way that allows you to stop chasing symptoms and start working with what is actually driving them.
